Our School

A family school
with world-class
expectations.

The ABC International School is family-owned and has been part of Ho Chi Minh City since 1995. That heritage is not decoration. It is why our focus has stayed exactly where it should be: on the individual child.

We are equally proud of the student-centred culture our family heritage encourages and of the academic results that culture produces. Both matter here. Neither is traded for the other.

A message from the Principal
“It is a well recognised fact that it is only when children are safe, secure and happy that they can truly reach their potential.”

Whether you are already a member of our community or are interested in becoming one, I hope this gives you a flavour of our school. Our aim is simple: to ensure every student meets their full potential, personally and academically.

I am very proud to work in a school which focuses on providing the best for our young people academically, whilst developing key life skills at the same time. It matters to us that students leave here with the knowledge and the character to succeed on whatever path they choose.

Our values

The letters in our name
are the values we teach.

Every house point, every report, every conversation with a student comes back to the same three words. They are not a poster in reception. They are how the school actually runs.

A

Achieving

Attainment and progress graded outstanding in every phase. IGCSE results significantly above England averages at the top grades. More Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards than any other school in Vietnam.

B

Belonging

Twenty-three nationalities, four houses, one community. Families stay with us for eighteen years and come back as teachers. Students describe the school as close-knit, and inspectors describe the atmosphere as calm and purposeful.

C

Caring

“The respect and consideration that pupils have for their peers is evident across the school.” Pastoral care is not a department here. It is the reason a child who feels secure is a child who is willing to take an academic risk.

Our community

Eighteen years is a long time
to trust one school.

After 18 years, my two sons have finally left ABCIS. The oldest has already graduated from Exeter and the youngest is starting Manchester this autumn. Between them they accumulated 21 IGCSEs, with nine at A*, and seven A Levels with two A*s. If you are looking for a school to educate your children, then I cannot recommend ABCIS highly enough.

As a former ABCIS student, I can confidently say that ABCIS prepared me very well for life at Cambridge University. My positive interactions with teachers and students have equipped me to be an outgoing and professional student at university.

I have been part of the ABCIS community for nearly 18 years. The fantastic teachers who taught me, the life-long friends I made here, and the quality of my education made it the easiest decision to return and become part of the community once more, now as a teacher.

The ABCIS Start · Family Portal

Your place is confirmed.
Now let's get you ready.

Most families accept a place months, sometimes a year, before their child walks through the door. That gap used to be silent. Now it is the beginning of belonging.

  • Meet the teacher who will greet your child on day one
  • Walk a day in the life, hour by hour, before you arrive
  • Understand Achieving, Belonging and Caring, and how house points work
  • Tick off uniform, bus, documents and term dates as you go
  • Hear from students and families who made the same move
